What's Happening in LAT?

    Apply to receive a bundle of books that have been selected by Diversity Committee that celebrate uniqueness, diverse characters, and raise important social justice issues. This year's theme: Overcoming Trauma

    Please consider nominating someone for one or more of the following awards. 

    • Walter Helm’s Service Award
    • Literacy Award
    • Teacher of the Year Award
    • Administrator of the Year Award
    • Distinguished Professor Award
    • Hoyte Snow Literacy Leadership Award
    • Librarian of the Year Award

    The deadline is October 15th of each year.  Awards will be announced at our 2022 LAT Awards Dinner on Sunday night December 4, 2022 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center. The person nominating the individuals for the awards will be notified to have his/her nominee at the awards ceremony where the winner will be announced. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

    This July local chapter leaders met to collaborate and share ideas about ways we can support literacy in our communities. Keep your eyes open for these great ideas!

    At LATs annual leadership meeting, members from the Tennessee Department of Education came and shared updates around Literacy 360 and the new legislation, the Tennessee Literacy Success Act! We are so grateful for opportunities to collaborate with TNDOE!
